All right, Playwrights. Heartland Theatre has been calling you out for years, and now it’s time to step outside. For our next 10-minute play festival, we’re headed for a natural setting and calling our festival The Campout. We’ve never tried this before, but we’re confident we can find our way to another great event with your help. Be our trailblazers and show us how life changes when you’re deep in the forest. Show us what lives beyond the edge of the clearing, and let us hear what rustles through the trees. Show us characters having an epiphany under the stars, or touch our hearts as connections form far away from daily distractions. Serious, funny, frightening or philosophical—you decide. We’ll supply a campsite, but we’re counting on you to light the fire. In the summer of 2020 we’ll bring the outdoors indoors and we hope your work will be part of it.
