Meet Pamela Morgan

Pamela Morgan, The Play’s the Thing guest playwright
Pamela Morgan is an emerging playwright and children’s book author from the Midwest, whose work often explores themes of gender, social justice, and feminism. Her plays have been produced across the US, UK, Australia, and India. She has been named a finalist for the Judith Royer Excellence in Playwriting Award and a finalist for the Jane Chambers Excellence in Feminist Playwriting Award. Pamela received the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Regional Full Length Play Award in 2022, and the Regional Rosa Parks Award in 2023, an award given to a work that furthers social justice and civil rights. 

Her debut picture book, Simply Skye, illustrated by Heather Bell and published by Amicus in 2023, follows a young child named Avi, who explores gender through their favorite doll, Skye. Pamela also received the Words of Wonder Fellowship in 2023 from the Writer’s Colony of Dairy Hollow. 

Other publications include poetry in Tho Win Magazine, monologues in anthologies by Smith & Kraus Publishers, and narrative essays in various anthologies by Chicago Story Press, Inc., 220 Publishing, and HerStories Project Press, LLC. 
She is the proud parent of two incredible human beings and a member of the Dramatists Guild and SCBWI. Pamela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from Trinity Christian College and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Augsburg University.
