Heartland’s senior acting program struts its stuff on stage at Heartland with four showcases, two in the summer and two in the fall. Enjoy talented seniors performing scenes and original short plays for just a donation at the door.

These seniors have participated in a two-month acting workshop and have prepared brief scenes depicting some of the opportunities that life can bring. This troupe is usually seen “on the road” at area nursing and retirement homes, and for other church and civic groups – but the Covid-19 Pandemic did not allow for this in 2020 through June 2021. These Showcase performances are the only ones held at the theatre. See Young at Heartland’s touring schedule.

The performances, open to the public, are usually set on Heartland’s stage.  This summer the senior acting troupe is strutting their “stuff” online with a virtual showcase on Heartland’s YouTube Channel (Heartland Theatre). There will be no reservations taken for the Showcase, first come – first served. Admittance is a donation to the Young at Heartland program.

Sandra Zielinski, assisted by Terri Whisenhunt, are the instructors for the Summer Showcase, with Ann B. White as the program director.
