OCTOBER SESSION: Tuesdays OCTOBER 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29 – 2024
Heartland Theatre Company offers an exciting class in play writing for the second time, due to popular demand. The class is a 5-session workshop from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 – 2024. The class instructor is Bruce Boeck, winning local and national playwright in the short play category.
The classes are designed to introduce students, age 18 and up, to the fundamentals of the playwriting process for short plays– including ideas, characters, plot, conflict, dialogue and endings. He will use existing samples of plays plus assignments for participants between class sessions. Class size is limited to only 15 participants.
Sign up below with the online registration form by September 25. The fee is $50 to be paid at the beginning of class October 1. The fee is non-refundable. We prefer a check, but we will accept all credit cards on October 1.

Bruce Boeck has written over 100 short plays since 2008, including three that were performed at Heartland Theatre’s 10-Minute Play Festival. His work has been performed across the US and Canada and his play, “Too Close For Comfort” was included in Best 5-Minute Plays. You may have seen his plays in Heartland Theatre Company’s Young at Heartland program for senior actors. He has taught at Lincoln College and Heartland Community College.
